Why Is Lord Corlys Called the Sea Snake in House of the Dragon? Explained
The nickname Sea Snake was taken from Lord Corlys’ ship of the same name in House of the Dragon. He captained the Sea Snake during the Nine Voyages. He is among the most skilled seafarers in House of the Dragon, leading voyages across the sea before he was even 10. The most famous of Corlys’ exploits are the Nine Voyages, each voyage making him richer than the last. In fact, by the end of the Nine Voyages, the Lannisters, Targaryens, nor Hightowers could match House Velaryon in wealth. His adventures are so great that HBO is even developing a new spinoff series featuring Lord Corlys and his exploits during the Nine Voyages. It would feature exotic places that haven’t been seen in House of the Dragon or Game of Thrones, such as Yi-Ti.
